Galveston clerk beaten during convenience store robbery

GALVESTON, TX

It happened around 3:15am on August 18 at a convenience store in the 6000 block of Seawall Boulevard.

According to Galveston police, a male and female were loitering inside the store so the clerk asked them to leave. After 45 minutes of pleading with the duo, the clerk finally called 911. But before help could arrive, the male suspect went behind the counter and beat the clerk.

The man stole cigarettes before making his way out of the store with the woman. They were seen fleeing northbound on 61st Street on foot.

The male suspect is described a medium-build black man who is about 6 feet tall. The woman was described as black and about 5 feet 6 inches tall.
