Richmond police seek public's help to find attempted robbery suspect

RICHMOND, TX

It happened at the JB Mart in the 1700 block of FM 1640 on Saturday at around 10:45pm.

Police say the suspect entered the store carrying a gun and went straight to the cash register, demanding money from the store employee.

The clerk was able to secure himself in the register area, say police, and the suspect left empty-handed. The suspect took off on foot, going west through the Lamar Park apartments.

The clerk says the suspect is a black male, about six feet tall, weighing approximately 300 pounds. Video shows the suspect wearing black pants, a long sleeve grey or black shirt, wearing a red bandana over his face and a stocking cap or rag over his head.
