Feud between brothers reportedly ends in deadly shooting in north Houston

HOUSTON

Police received a call from a neighbor who heard gunshots and called 911. The property owner said this was a feud between brothers who were being evicted.

The three men, according to the owner of this property, had been given notice on August 5 of their eviction. It was filed with authorities two days ago. The reason given was failure to pay rent.

Just after 3pm Friday, the owner says two of the siblings who live together in one unit were arguing and one shot the other fatally.

"There was one shot, then somebody screamed and called for 911," said apartment complex co-owner Steve Moore. "Then there were two more shots and one of the brothers skedaddled. He took off."

No one is in custody in connection with the shooting. The owner says he's optimistic police will find the shooter, since the victim is his brother.
