The mascots who get you fired up at local sports games are now trying to get you fired up about adopting homeless pets.

Clutch of the Rockets, Orbit of the Astros, Shasta of the University of Houston and Moe of the Sugar Land Skeeters were among those who teamed up Saturday to help Houston Humane Society find forever homes for adoptable pets.

Families got to meet the mascots, and a few found new furry family members at the Houston Humane Society event.

The event may be over, but hundreds more animals are in need of loving homes. All adoptions at the Houston Humane Society include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, routine vaccinations, general health exam, rabies vaccine, de-worming, heartworm test in dogs over 6 months and feline leukemia test in cats, and an adoption kit.
