Houston businessman gives girl, 5, second chance at happy birthday

HOUSTON

Earlier this week, we told you about Valarie Hernandez. Her mother's car was broken into after the family birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and all of her gifts were stolen, along with her mother's purse and camcorder with video of the birthday celebration.

Dozens of you asked how to help. On Friday morning, John Davis. His wife, Debbie, and hundreds of employees at XL Parts on the west side had a party ready for the little girl, including the same Hello Kitty theme with gifts, cupcakes and punch.

Valarie was a bit shy when we tried to get her to do an interview but she had no reservations about tearing open all those gifts.
