It happened around midnight along Korff at the North Freeway.
Authorities say a man and his girlfriend were parked alongside a shopping center when another man pulled up next to them in a black Dodge Charger. Police say after an altercation, the second man pulled out a gun and opened fire.
The victim and his girlfriend drove off and eventually hit a fence. He was taken to hospital in serious condition.
The suspect got away. The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
