Police said a SWAT scene in Sugar Land ended peacefully Saturday.

SWAT officers were called to the 3000 block of Monet near Williams Trace around 2pm. According to police, a 59-year-old man was believed to be armed in his home. His wife reportedly called police to say her husband was having a manic episode and was patrolling his home with a shotgun, threatening to shoot anyone who came near.

After a standoff, tactical teams approached the man's home with a tactical vehicle and suspect opened the front door. He was immediately taken into custody without incident, officials said.

Several streets near the scene were blocked as a precaution and later reopened. The man had no hostages, police said.

According to police, the man will receive a medical evaluation, and charges will be filed. It's unclear what type of charges the man faces.
