Engine issues prompt plane headed to Europe to return to Houston

HOUSTON

United Airlines Flight 58 landed without incident at 5:13pm.

According to airline officials, the crew identified an undisclosed issue with one of the engines and decided to return to the airport as a precautionary measure.

"Our maintenance team will review the aircraft and we are re-accommodating all the customers on an alternative airplane," United Airlines said in a prepared statement.

The Boeing 777 aircraft carrying 223 passengers and 15 crew members.

No other details were immediately available.
