UH responds to lawsuit filed by former star Michael Young

HOUSTON

All of this started when Young was re-assigned from his job as director of basketball operations. The former star of the Phi Slama Jama teams of the 80s claims his new community service job amounted to accepting money without performing a service.

Young also claims he was told he would only be paid as long as his son, Joseph, played for the Cougars basketball team.

Here's part of the university's answer to Young's charges:

"At no time was Young informed that he should or could sit at home, not perform work and accept a paycheck from the university,

Nor was young ever told his employment was contingent on his son playing basketball for the university."
