Plenty of free stuff to take advantage of this weekend

HOUSTON

First up, Friday nights in the summer means Latin Beats at the downtown Aquarium. Learn how to dance salsa like the pros with some free lessons. There is no cover charge and the music starts at 7pm tonight and ends at 11pm.

If you didn't get a chance to catch a local fireworks show in person, Kings Harbor in Kingwood is hosting a celebration with fireworks from 7pm to 10 pm Friday. The evening kicks off with the rockabilly John Evans Band. The fireworks show begins at 9:30pm.

If you're in the mood for a movie, kick back on Galveston Island with Movie Night on the Strand. This Saturday, July 6 at 7pm, the blockbuster movie 'Chicago' will be featured on the big screen so grab your chairs and blankets and head to Saengerfest Park, which is located at the corner of 23rd and Strand Streets.

For those who are 21 years old and up, Hubbell and Hudson Market in The Woodlands is hosting a Battle of Texas Beers. Breweries from across the Lone Star State battle it out to be recognized as the best Texas brewery. Enjoy live music as you sample and vote for your favorite beer. The preview event is Friday evening from 6-9pm. And the big battle is Saturday from noon to 3pm.

You still have time to make your vote count on Pei Wei's Facebook page. All you have to do is vote for the Pei Wei lettuce wraps you crave most -- traditional chicken, Thai chicken, or Korean steak -- and receive a bogo entrée offer. It's one offer per Facebook account. You have until Saturday to claim your offer.

Finally, if you're looking to freshen up your look, then head to any JC Penney salon before Sunday to get your bangs or beard trimmed for free.
