Teen attacked by shark at Surfside Beach moves to rehab facility

HOUSTON

Garrett Sebesta, 15, has been transferred from the hospital to a pediatric nursing facility. Garrett has undergone multiple surgeries from bites to his leg and hands.

His family says that his transfer is a positive step in the teen's recovery. They issued the following statement Wednesday:

"Garrett Sebesta was admitted to Healthbridge Children's Hospital last night in good condition. With healing as his continued primary purpose and rehabilitation as his end goal, he is in good spirits and looking forward to working with the physicians and staff at Healthbridge. He is positive about what the future holds for him and his family.

Garrett would like to invite all of you to the "Faith, Strength and Hope Livestock Show and Fundraiser" organized by his friends and family to aid with medical bills. The fundraiser will take place on August 17 at Harvest Park in Needville, Texas. In addition to the Livestock Show, there will be BBQ plates available, Live and Silent Auctions, and Live Music to end the night.

Garrett and his family wish you all a fun and safe Fourth of July!"
