Crooks hold up armored truck outside Chase bank branch in north Harris County

HOUSTON

That robbery happened right outside a Chase Bank. There's no word how much money the crooks took from that armored truck.

It all happened just after 11am Monday. Investigators say workers operating a Garda armored truck pulled up to the Chase bank branch in north Houston when the crooks caught them off guard.

Investigators say one or two individuals approached the armored truck, grabbed a money bag and ran off.

As bank customers watched the armored truck workers walk detectives through the scene to explain what happened, some of them told me this incident outside this busy bank makes them feel very unsafe.

"It's very frustrating," said bank customer John Freeman. "Nobody feels safe. I don't feel safe parking in the parking lot right now. It makes me even want to go get a concealed carry permit."

Right now the FBI is handling this robbery. They spent several hours interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance video for leads on the crooks.
