Stacks of pallets burn at business in southeast Houston

HOUSTON

Residents spotted a huge column of smoke in southeast Houston early Monday, and called for firefighters at about 4:40am. When they arrived at a business on Cullen at Pederson, they found several stacks of wooden pallets on fire. Firefighters brought in additional units and a booster truck to help bring the flames under control, since there were no nearby hydrants.

It took a couple of hours before the blaze was under control. HFD continued to check for hot spots in the rubble well into the day.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
