West Houston gas station the target of smash-and-grab thieves

HOUSTON

There's now a gaping hole in the side of the convenience store on the Katy Freeway at TC Jester. But what you don't see there is the store's ATM. That ended up in the back of the suspects' pickup.

According to police, the suspects backed that pickup into the side of the store, crashing through the glass.

The business is a 24-hour store, so there was a clerk behind the counter at the time. He wasn't injured.

Police say the suspects grabbed the ATM, loaded it up and then were seen driving away eastbound on the I-10 feeder road.

Police are still looking for the suspects, who they say were in a black Dodge pickup with damage to the rear end.
