HFD union backs candidate Ben Hall for Houston mayor

HOUSTON

Union President Jeff Caynon said, "Mr. Hall will better balance the needs of public and firefighter safety, with fiscal responsibility. He believes in fair play and has a vision to lead Houston into the future."

Caynon added that he believes the fire department will get more support under Hall's leadership.

Hall is currently a trial attorney. He served as city attorney under Houston Mayor Bob Lanier.

So far, Hall and Green party candidate Don Cook are Mayor Annise Parker's only competition in the November 5 election.

Earlier this year Mayor Parker received the support of the Houston Police Officers Union.
