Police: 1 missing after Maine condo explosion

YARMOUTH, ME

Police Chief Michael Morrill says one person remains unaccounted for following the explosion, which happened at about 6:20 a.m. Tuesday. There was no immediate word on injuries.

The Portland Press Herald reports ambulances and fire trucks from several towns are at the North Gables condo complex.

The state fire marshal's office is at the scene. Earlier, police said the cause of the explosion appeared to be linked to propane.

Power has been cut off to much of the town.

The condo complex is made up of groupings of attached homes.
