HOUSTON

Fifty-year-old Rolin Eli Escober, a former Express Jet employee from Humble, was sentenced Monday after he'd accepted a deal and pleaded guilty on Febuary 4 to possession with intent to distribute heroin, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Escobar and his accomplice, 34-year-old Elidia Molina, were arrested October 19 after they used their job positions to smuggle more than 1.2 kilograms of heroin and 13 kilograms of sham heroin through Bush Intercontinental Airport.

An undercover officer had paid the duo to smuggle the drugs and when they successfully completed their mission, they were arrested by undercover agents.

Molina, who worked for DAL Global Services, also has pleased guilty in the case. Her sentencing hearing has been set for July 26.

Meanwhile, Escobar is in custody, pending transfer to an undetermined federal prison.
