One person died and three others were injured overnight in a multiple-vehicle crash in northwest Harris County, and officials say alcohol was involved.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident, which happened around 11pm at 7500 North Highway 6 at Longenbaugh.

According to investigators, 22-year-old Aaron Jaques was speeding northbound on Highway 6 when he struck the back of a pickup truck with his front end.

Deputies said the pickup truck, driven by Don Johanson, was forced into the southbound lanes and struck an oncoming Dodge Ram head on.

Johanson died at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, Saul Grimaldo, was unresponsive when emergency crews arrived. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. His passengers, Miriam and Homero Grimaldo, were also taken to Memorial Hermann for medical treatment. Their conditions are unknown.

Jaques reportedly fled the scene of the crash on foot, but he was found about an hour later and taken into custody.

HCSO officials said Jaques had been drinking and was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He is charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle and intoxication assault with a vehicle. Bnd was set at $30,000 for each count.

This case remains under investigation. Jaques is due to appear in court Monday.
