A federal judge in Amarillo on Thursday sentenced 49-year-old Donald Joseph West of Amarillo.
A jury in March convicted West of aggravated bank robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and using the weapon during a violent crime. Investigators say West wore a mask and pointed a gun at a teller in the Nov. 5 holdup of FirstBank Southwest of Amarillo.
Prosecutors say his nephew, 43-year-old David West, provided the gun. David West was convicted of unlawful sale and disposition of a firearm and awaits sentencing.
Records show Donald West has bank robbery, aggravated robbery and evading arrest convictions going back to 1987.
