Baby Bounce: Royal infant may help UK economy

British officials are hoping that the expected royal bouncing baby will mean a baby bounce for the struggling economy.

Royal favorites Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge are the expectant parents, with the birth anticipated next month.

Officials say a happy national occasion with the royal family and a new heir could be an emotional jackpot in Britain.

Pauline Maclaran, a marketing and consumer research expert, says the intensity of royal fever has grown and that's good since people look for something uplifting in times of financial stress.

Britain really could use some consumer confidence right now. The economy is so flat no one has any idea how to pick it up. It grew last quarter at the less-than-stunning rate of 0.3 percent.
