It happened in northeast Harris County on the Aldine Mail Route Road exit ramp of the Eastex Freeway.

Deputies say two men -- ages 19 and 20 -- were inside the car when it went off the freeway, slammed into a guardrail and went airborne before crashing into a pole.

They were trapped inside the car for about 30 minutes before firefighters could rescue them.

Both men were critically injured and one was airlifted to an area hospital.

It's not yet clear what caused the crash.
