Emergency responders and Texas EquuSearch volunteers continued their search Sunday for a drowning victim near a scuba park in Manvel.

According to the Manvel Police Department, a 26-year-old man was swimming in a pond at Twin Lakes RV Resort and Scuba Park on Highway 6 around 6:40pm Saturday when witnesses saw him having problems. People nearby tried to help the man, but he went underwater and they never saw him resurface, police said.

Texas EquuSearch joined MPD, Manvel Fire Department, Alvin Fire Department and the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office dive team, searching with boats and sonar equipment until after dark both Saturday and Sunday.

They suspended their search for the night and planned to resume Monday morning.

The man's name has not been released, but we're told he lives at the RV resort.
