Traffic stop nets $2 million in hidden heroin

A traffic stop helped Rosenberg police discover more than $2 million worth of hidden drugs.

On Friday, Rosenberg police pulled over a vehicle in the 2800 block of US Highway 59 for a traffic offense. Upon further investigation, officers located a hidden compartment in the vehicle containing about 25 pounds of heroin. Police estimate the street value at about $2.3 million.

Two occupants of the vehicle, indentified as Christopher Clark, 44, of Houston, and Alejandra Oropeza, 36, of Katy, were both arrested for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
