Human bones found in northwest Houston

HOUSTON

Neighbors discovered a skull and a lower jaw on Pickering at De Priest and called 911. When officers arrived, they also discovered a trail of bones leading into the woods. The remains appear to be of an adult male.

Investigators also found clothing and a wallet, but they're not sure if they belong to the victim.

"We do have reports of two missing persons that lived in this area, one of them from a few months ago and the other from two weeks ago," said Sgt. Robert Torres with the Houston Homicide Division. "So we are looking at those two possibilities."

The Medical Examiner's office will determine the cause of death.
