Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter confirmed the fatality Monday to the Midland Reporter-Telegram.
Midland police and fire departments responded to the crash at 10:31 a.m. Midland County deputies and Department of Public Safety troopers also responded.
It's the first death involving a train in the city since four veterans were killed when a train hit a parade float during the Show of Support parade last November.
That accident remains under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board. It also involved a Union Pacific train.
