The accident happened in the 8900 block of South Sam Houston Parkway about 10:20pm Tuesday. Police say the victim was driving a gray Honda Accord westbound on the service road of the South Sam Houston Parkway when a witness said he ran a red light at the intersection of South Main. The Honda was struck by a black Buick Verano traveling northbound on South Main.
The 34-year-old victim was killed on impact. His identity has not been released. No one else was injured.
Further investigation determined the victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
