House party ends with one dead, two others injured in NW Harris Co.

HOUSTON

The 22-year-old was at a party at a home in the 11200 block of Veterans Memorial when police say someone started shooting.

"He had a baby on the way," said Calandra Howard, Ford,'s sister. "He didn't even get a chance to meet his child."

Ford was to become a godparent to his sister's son during a Christening Sunday. But that changed when he was shot at the Champions Townhomes on the Greens during that party.

Investigators say there was a clash between those who were at the party and another group that showed up, but wasn't invited. It's unclear if Ford was an intended target or innocent bystander.

"They took a lot away. My brother was my heart. That's my heart," said Howard. "That's the only person I have."

Two others were shot in the melee. Their injuries were minor.

Ford's family, however, says they will never be the same. Without him, his unborn baby now will grow up never knowing his father. Without tips, investigators might never know who killed him.

"We don't actually know the whole story or all the details that are going on," said Ford's cousin, Michael Townsend. "We're trying to figure that out now. That's why we are hoping people will see this and let us know if they have any clues."

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact HPD's homicide unit at 713-967-5810 or call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
