A SWAT situation in southwest Houston Friday evening ended without an arrest.

Around 4:30pm, authorities surrounded a home near the intersection of White Cap Lane and Cook Road to serve a warrant on a suspect wanted in connection to a murder.

HPD Spokesman John Cannon says officers rammed the building as part of the investigation and one person came out of the house. That person then said two others were still inside so authorities closed off the entire block to follow up on the claims.

More than four hours later, authorities determined that no one was inside the home.

The person who was in the house has been detained for more questioning but is not under arrest at this point.

Just Monday, three people were shot less than a mile away from the home's location, and a man was murdered on Tuesday while answering the door of his home, which is also nearby. There's no indication any of these cases are related.
