Authorities have not announced any link between Bryce Reed and the April 17 blast in West, Texas, which killed 14 people. Reed was arrested last week and indicted Tuesday on a charge of possessing an unregistered firearm.
Investigators allege Reed was in possession of materials for a pipe bomb.
Reed's attorney, Jonathan Sibley, said Wednesday that he agreed with prosecutors to postpone a scheduled detention hearing. Reed remains in custody.
Reed was among emergency crews that responded to the fire and explosion in West. Documents show he lost his job with the West EMS unit two days later.
