Charles Villegas, 28, was in court Monday morning. He's charged with endangering a child. Police say an officer working an extra job last Friday found the boy in the car outside Memorial City Mall.
They say beer and the drug Xanax were in the car.
Villegas is also facing an outstanding theft charge. The boy is OK.
