Teen in custody after search that led to school lockdowns in Fort Bend County

HOUSTON

Sugar Land police say they tried to pull over a driver at around 9am Wednesday for talking on a cell phone in a school zone, but they say he fled when they tried to pull him over. That led to a chase. The car was also reported stolen.

Police say the driver, Dante Price, jumped out of the car and ran into Settler's Park subdivision.

A spokesperson for Fort Bend ISD says during the search, the perimeter doors of First Colony Middle School and Settler Ways Elementary were locked and students were being kept inside the building. At Colony Bend Elementary and Austin Parkway Elementary, outside activities were cancelled as a precaution during the investigation.

Additional Fort Bend ISD police were present at each of the schools and students are operating under normal schedules.

Price, 17, was later caught. No details of the arrest have been released.
