Deputies identify body found outside northwest Harris County laundromat

HOUSTON

Investigators say Juan Hernandez was robbed and killed outside a washateria on West Road and Pleasanton Drive near Veterans Memorial. It is just steps away from a pre-school.

Family members remember Hernandez as a hard-working husband and father.

They say the 34-year-old shooting victim was hanging out with friends before his tragic murder.

Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators tell us Hernandez was found shot to death in the parking lot of the washateria around 5am Saturday.

Investigators say they believe whoever killed Hernandez robbed him of his wallet and took his pickup truck.

Dozens of Hernandez's grieving family members and friends gathered at his home Sunday night. They want to know who is behind this murder.

"Hopefully they find him and hopefully he goes to jail and there is justice," relative Valerie Rosales said. "Because how he died, he didn't deserve that."

Family members say Hernandez's stolen truck is still missing. It's a charcoal grey GMC pickup with Texas license plate number 41L-VS9.

Anyone with information regarding this case is being asked to call the HCSO Homicide Unit at 713-967-5810 or Crime Stoppers at 713- 222-TIPS (8477).
