Two men were arrested in Galveston Thursday night, accused of harboring two teenage girls from central Texas, which led to a statewide Amber Alert.

Galveston police were tipped off that the suspects, Keith Mize and Brandon Chelette, were on the Island, along with 15-year-old Misty Sloan and 13-year-old Savannah Sloan. An Amber Alert had been issued for Misty and Savannah.

Police located a vehicle matching the description of the one the four were believed to be in. It was in the parking lot of a GNC Food Mart at 1028 Seawall. Officers went inside and found Mize and Misty Sloan. Mize, who was taken into custody immediately, told police that Savannah Sloan and Chelette were at a nearby hotel.

Police were able to make phone contact with Chelette at the motel and talked him into coming out and giving up.

Police found several rifles and pistols inside the motel room.

Mize and Chelette are charged with Harboring a Runaway and taken to the Galveston County Jail. The two teen girls were taken to a juvenile holding facility where they were held for family members to pick up. They both appeared unharmed.
