The fire happened at the Southwest Terminal Mineral Oil Company on Wallisville near North Wayside.
Fire officials say lightning struck a storage tank, which caused the fire. Firefighters knocked down the initial fire quickly, but a spark caught a second storage tank on fire.
Fire officials say it was only the insulation that burned in both of the tanks, neither of which were breached.
Both tanks were smoldering for quite some time and firefighters removed some of that insulation to make sure that everything was extinguished.
The company says the tanks contained mineral oil, which is non-toxic, and used in the automotive industry. There is no effect, they say, on air quality.
Firefighters will be monitoring both tanks to make sure the flames do not reignite.
No injuries were reported.
