Alan Pozzerle is accused of murdering 58-year-old William Johnson. Investigators say Pozzerle got into an argument with Johnson over a cell phone on East 29th near Airline. When Johnson took off running, police say Pozzerle followed him and ran him over.
They say Pozzerle then got out and continued to beat Johnson with a club. Johnson died at the scene.
Pozzerle was arrested Sunday.
