Police believe someone deliberately ran over a homeless man overnight in north Houston.

Authorities were called to what they thought was a hit-and-run accident on East 29th near Airline last night. When they arrived, they began to suspect that the victim was struck and killed intentionally.

The victim was already dead when police showed up at the scene, and his body was on the sidewalk. Police say the driver of a delivery van hit the homeless man and kept going.

Several homeless people witnessed the accident. One witness says the driver ran over the victim several times and pinned him against a fence.

The victim has not been identified, and the driver remains at large.
