Police used bean bags guns to knock down a woman with a gun after an hours long standoff in northwest Houston yesterday.

Officers say the woman went to a relative's house on the 4000 block of Northfield Lane near Hempsteamd Road around 6:30pm, grabbed a gun and threatened to kill herself.

She was standing outside with the gun when police arrived. She then barricaded herself inside the house. Five hours later, the SWAT team used an armored vehicle to break a window.

The woman came outside with a gun. She refused to drop it and that's when police say they used bean bag guns to subdue her. She was taken into custody and will be given a neurological evaluation.
