Police in North Texas say a 12-year-old girl at the center of an Amber Alert may be headed toward the Houston area with her alleged abductor.

Sommer Brown was allegedly kidnapped around 6pm Thursday by her non-custodial mother from a home in Cedar Hill, which is located southwest of Dallas, according to police.

Authorities say Brown's non-custodial mother -- 43-year-old Lisa Elizabeth Brown -- has been uncooperative with police and they now believe the 12-year-old could be in grave or immediate danger.

Investigators suspect the two may be headed toward the Houston area or Atlanta, where Lisa Brown is employed by the Atlanta Georgia ISD. They could be driving a gray 2006 Ford Expedition with a Texas temporary license plate number 86P 3357.

Sommer Brown is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 90 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes and last seen wearing a black tank top and black basketball shorts.

Lisa Brown is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black blazer and a light green shirt.

Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is asked to contact police.
