Police chase ends in dramatic crash in North Houston

HOUSTON

Police say an officer pulled the driver over for a traffic violation around 2am.

"She checked the driver's license and she noticed that he had a parole warrant out. She called for back up," said A. Semein with the Houston Police Department. "She and the other officer approached the suspect's vehicle. She asked the suspect to exit his vehicle. The vehicle was locked. He he refused and sped off from the scene."

Police chased the driver all the way to the Beltway 8 feeder before he lost control. He crashed into a fence at a hotel and the truck became caught in shrubbery.

The driver and two passengers got out of the car and ran. All three were captured. Only the driver will be charged. He faces charges for felony evading, parole violation, and possession of a controlled substance.
