Police investigating home invasion in SW Houston

HOUSTON

As the victims walked me through what happened, they told me they have no idea why they were targeted.

Minh Tran speaks very little English, but he and his son Tuan definitely want to warn their neighbors about the three armed burglars who barged into their home in the 9300 block of Concourse Tuesday morning.

Tuan Tran said, "He opened the door a little bit, and then the guy outside, he pushed the door open, and he fall on the floor."

Tuan says his father answered the door believing it was a delivery guy on the other side. Within seconds, they say the men pushed down the elderly man and stormed in waving guns. Tuan says his mom was in the kitchen and ran out when she heard her husband's panicked screams for help.

Tuan said, "They come and put the gun right here. She is very scared."

Tuan says the burglars snatched the jewelry his mom was wearing, a pair of earrings and necklace. Upstairs, his sister and her five-year-old son were hiding in a closet calling 911.

Tuan says police came within seconds, but not before the unidentified burglars ran off. Right now the family says they are just lucky everyone is OK.

The family describes the burglars as three Hispanic men who got away in a light-colored work van. Officials are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
