Southwest Houston house badly damaged in blaze

HOUSTON

Firefighters were called to the home in the 6700 block of Sylmar Road just before 6pm.

According to officials, 28 firefighters battled the blaze to get it under control.

When the flames were out, the house was reportedly at least 70 percent damaged.

No one was home when the fire started and no injuries were reported. One family was in the process of moving out and another family was in the process of moving in, authorities said.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
