This happened around 3am on Old Creek at Casa Grande in northwest Houston.
She discovered a back bedroom was on fire. The woman, her husband, her brother-in-law and a child escaped the burning home.
Firefighters were able to get the flames under control quickly, but the home was badly damaged.
Firefighters believe the fire started with an electrical problem in the attic.
