Edgar Cuellar, 17, was in a wheelchair when he went before a judge Tuesday, still recovering from the gunshots he suffered during a shootout with SWAT officers last month. Cuellar is accused of shooting Sergeant Jennifer Castaneda and Lieutenant Dennis Walker.
The officers went to the family's home to talk to Cuellar about another case when he allegedly opened fire on them. That led to a 6-hour SWAT standoff and eventually a shootout.
Cuellar is charged with four counts of aggravated assault of a public servant and is being held on $200,000 bond.
