Convicted killer of twin sisters loses appeal

HOUSTON

The ruling late Monday from the New Orleans-based court moves 50-year-old Garcia Glen White a step closer to execution.

White was condemned for the stabbing deaths of Annette and Bernette Edwards. Testimony showed White went to their Houston home to smoke crack with their mother, Bonita, who also was fatally stabbed. He also was linked to two other Houston killings, including a convenience store slaying in 1995 that led to his arrest for the then-unsolved Edwards slayings.

White unsuccessfully argued in appeals his jury selection, jury instructions, his statements to police and the punishment charge were all improper.
