Four of the eight tell the El Paso Times that district officials still haven't told them why they are to be fired at a school board meeting Tuesday. At least one asserted that he told district, state and federal officials repeatedly about serious problems at Bowie High School, where he'd worked previously.
An outside audit found that systematic test rigging and grade manipulation that sent one educator to prison continued long after his arrest. Former superintendent Lorenzo Garcia is serving a 3 1/2-year federal prison sentence for fraud.
