Oil change turns into rescue operation when cat found stuck in truck

SIOUX CITY, IA

Mike Kerkman's cat had somehow become stuck in a hole under the hood of his truck near the washer fluid. She managed to survive a 45 mile drive to the car dealership.

Mechanics had to take the bumper off the truck to get the cat out. She became upset during the rescue and had to be sedated by a local veterinarian. But after an hour and a half they got her out. And that left her owner with one big question.

"I just kept going, oh God, what's this going to cost me? They go, 'eh don't worry about it!' I walked out of there. I didn't pay anything," says Kerkman.

The cat has been renamed Sierra after the truck she was stuck in. She is now doing fine.
