"I just like feel afraid and I would like to forget about everything that happened last Friday," the victim told Eyewitness News.
It all started at around 1pm on March 15 when police say a woman went to the Bank of America on Westheimer just outside the Beltway. She says when she went in, she noticed a gold or tan minivan parked there. When she left, she says the same minivan was driving around the parking lot.
The victim then drove back to her job at the Indonesian Consulate in the 10900 block of Richmond and entered the parking lot through a controlled-access gate. Once inside, a man, who police say followed the woman after making her withdrawal at the bank, can be seen on the surveillance video squeezing through the gate before it closes.
The suspect then runs up to the victim's minivan, and crouches behind it and waits.
"When she starts to open the door, he runs up on her and he grabs the envelope that she carried out of the bank and her purse, and he flees on foot to a waiting vehicle outside the exit gate," says Kim Miller with the Houston Police Department.
The victim and her passenger chased after the man, but he slipped back through the gate.
The woman says the suspect then got into a tan or gold minivan, which was parked on Walnut Bend near Richmond.
"After this incident, she recalled seeing a tan, possibly a Mazda or Honda van, parked in the (bank) parking lot. She didn't think anything of it," Miller said.
Police now believe the two men in that vehicle followed her back to work from the bank.
The suspect is described only as a black male, about 5 foot 11 and 180 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans and a blue T-shirt. He was possibly last seen in an older model tan or gold Mazda MVP or Honda Odyssey van.
