Police say at around 8am the suspect was spotted near Broadway. The suspect fled in a vehicle, but didn't get far after getting into an accident with another driver.
The suspect fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended at an apartment complex between Deady Middle School and the South Loop.
Constables quickly notified school officials to lock down the school. The lockdown was quickly lifted after the suspect was taken into custody.
There was no word of any injuries.
