The Houston Fire Department was called to the burning house on Lear at Greens Bayou in east Houston around 3pm and found the woman, who is six months pregnant, outside.
According to officials, the woman was home alone when the fire started.
Her husband tells us she easn't feeling well, so he had gone to pick up their daughter from school. That's when he started getting panicked phone calls.
She was trapped and couldn't open the window in her daughter's bedroom. Her husband told her to break it, and that's how she was able to escape.
She was taken to the hospital for observation and firefighters extinguished the blaze.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire. There was heavy smoke and the fire appears to have done extensive damage. The woman's husband tells us they don't have any insurance on their home.
