According to the Liberty County Sheriff's Office, Dewanda Dubbin was with her Relay for Life team collecting donations at the corner of Highway 146 and FM 787 in the northeast part of the county just east of Romayor.
Around 11:20am, Dubbin tried to cross the street and was struck by a vehicle making a left turn.
Life Flight was called to the scene, but officials said Dubbin was talking, coherent and complaining of a head injury. At last check, her condition was unknown.
It's unclear whether the driver is facing charges.
